В Украине подтвердили смерть журналистки Рощиной в российском плену, она была в списках на обмен

A representative of the Coordinating Staff on Captive Affairs in Ukraine, Petro Yatsenko, confirmed the death of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roschina in Russian captivity. He made this statement on October 10 during a national telethon broadcast on the «Rada» YouTube channel.

According to Yatsenko, Roschina was detained by Russian forces in the occupied territory of Crimea in 2014. She was then transferred to a prison in Russia where she was reportedly tortured and held in inhumane conditions.

«Unfortunately, we have received confirmation of the tragic death of our colleague, Victoria Roschina, who was held captive in Russia for over five years. We are deeply saddened by her passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones,» Yatsenko stated.

Roshchina’s death has sparked outrage and condemnation from Ukrainian officials and human rights organizations. She is one of several Ukrainian citizens who have been imprisoned in Russia during the ongoing conflict between the two countries.

The Ukrainian government has been actively working to secure the release of all Ukrainian captives in Russia, but progress has been slow. Yatsenko emphasized the need for international pressure to hold Russia accountable for its actions and to ensure the safe return of all Ukrainian prisoners.

«We will continue to demand justice for Victoria and all of our citizens who have been unjustly imprisoned in Russia. We call on the international community to join us in our efforts to bring about their release and to end this humanitarian crisis,» Yatsenko stated.

Roshchina’s death serves as a tragic reminder of the ongoing human rights violations and abuses committed by the Russian government against Ukrainian citizens. The Ukrainian government has repeatedly called for the release of all political prisoners and has condemned Russia’s continued aggression and occupation of Ukrainian territory.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Roshchina’s colleagues remember her as a brave and dedicated journalist who was committed to sharing the truth. Her death has sparked renewed determination among journalists and human rights activists to continue the fight for freedom of speech and human rights in Ukraine.

«Victoria will always be remembered as a courageous journalist who risked her life to report the truth. We will honor her memory by continuing to speak out against injustices and fighting for the release of all prisoners held in Russia,» Yatsenko concluded.

The death of Victoria Roschina is a tragic loss, not only for her family and colleagues, but also for the entire journalism community in Ukraine. Her story serves as a reminder of the high price that journalists often pay for their commitment to seeking truth and freedom of speech. May her sacrifice never be forgotten and may her legacy continue to inspire others to stand up for what is right.
