Инвесторы призывают депутатов помочь ускорить строительство ветроэнергетики – Конеченков

Ukrainian lawmakers must make amendments to legislation that will accelerate the construction of wind power facilities in Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the board of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association, Andriy Konechenkov, in an interview with the channel «Pravmir.»

According to Konechenkov, Ukraine has a great potential for wind energy development, but currently only a small fraction of this potential is being utilized. He emphasized that the main obstacle to the development of wind energy in Ukraine is the slow pace of construction of new facilities due to bureaucratic barriers and outdated legislation.

The Ukrainian Wind Energy Association is urging the government to take urgent measures to address these issues and create a more favorable environment for the development of wind power in the country. Konechenkov stressed that the current legislation is not conducive to attracting investment in the industry and is hindering the growth of wind energy in Ukraine.

One of the key changes that the association is advocating for is the simplification of the permitting process for the construction of wind farms. Currently, obtaining all the necessary permits and approvals can take up to two years, which significantly delays the implementation of projects. The association proposes to streamline this process and reduce the time frame to six months, which would greatly facilitate the implementation of wind energy projects.

Moreover, the association is calling for the introduction of a feed-in tariff for wind power, which would guarantee a stable and attractive price for electricity produced from wind. This would provide investors with the necessary confidence and incentives to invest in wind energy projects in Ukraine.

The association also suggests that the government should consider offering tax incentives for wind energy companies, such as a reduced corporate tax rate or exemption from certain taxes, to further stimulate investment in the industry.

Konechenkov also stressed the importance of updating the current legislation to align with European standards and regulations. This would not only improve the investment climate in Ukraine but also open up opportunities for exporting wind energy to neighboring countries.

The potential benefits of developing wind energy in Ukraine are numerous. It would not only contribute to the country’s energy independence but also reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and decrease harmful emissions. Furthermore, the development of wind energy would create new jobs and stimulate economic growth in rural areas, where many wind farms are located.

In conclusion, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association is calling on lawmakers to take urgent action and make the necessary changes to legislation to accelerate the development of wind energy in Ukraine. These changes would not only benefit the country’s energy sector but also have a positive impact on the economy and the environment. It is time for Ukraine to fully utilize its wind energy potential and become a leader in the region in renewable energy development.
